We founded the lab on a simple belief: stories shape people, and people shape the world. And to keep great stories alive, we want to help entertainment companies thrive—through better products, sharper strategies, and deeper emotional connection.
That means getting close to what young audiences feel, need, and expect—then translating that into design, technology, and strategy. We study behavior, experiment boldly, and work side-by-side with entertainment teams to create what resonates.

What started as the research team in student club Stanford Students in Entertainment evolved into the Stanford Entertainment Lab, rooted in and shaped by the Stanford d.school's design principles to create meaningful human-centered experiences.
